Ingredients A:
400g beef shank – cut into bite size cube
1 stalk scallion – cut into 2.5cm lengths
2.5cm piece ginger – sliced thinly
2 clove garlic – sliced
Ingredient B:
3 tablespoons light soy sauce
˝ tablespoon sugar
1 star anise seed
500ml (2 cups) water
General Ingredient:
3 tablespoons oil
1 turnip – cut into large cubes
Method:
Heat the oil in a frying pan and sauté Ingredient A for 5 minutes.
Remove ingredients to a saucepan. Add in Ingredient B and cook with
cover for 10 minutes or until the beef is tender. Add in the turnip and
simmer until turnip is soft. Remove to serving bowl. Serve immediately.
