Carrot and corn in Sparerib Soup Recipe

1 big carrot, cut into big pieces (about 3cm thick)
2 corn on the cob, cut into big pieces (about 3cm thick)
300g spareribs
8 red dates (Also called Jujube or Chinese date), remove the core
2 liters (8 cups) water

Put the sparerib into a heat proof bowl, pour hot water onto the sparerib, rinse for 10 second, drain. Boil water in a large saucepan, put in all ingredients. Reduce to medium heat and continue to cook for 1 hour. Put in salt and remove from heat. Ready to serve.
