Broccoli with Mustard Soy Recipe

Cooking time: 18minutes


Ingredient A:

  • 450 gram (1 pound) broccoli (prefer sprouting broccoli or broccoli with a tender stem). Cut into bites-size.

  • 2 tablespoon salt

  • 3 liter (12 cups) water

Ingredient B:

  • 236ml (1 cup) vegetarian dashi stock

  • 2 teaspoons light soy sauce

  • 2 teaspoons mirin

  • 2 tablespoons English mustard powder, mixed with 60ml (1/4 cup) water


Add salt into water and bring to boil in a saucepan. Add Broccoli and cook for 2 minutes or until the broccoli has changed to darker color, do not overcook to preserve the vitamin C.  Drain well, put on a salad bowl and set aside. Mix Ingredient B in a separate bowl. Stir in the mixture, toss to coat.  Set aside for 15minutes before serving.
